As early as August 2020, I was tasked by our Mayor Ed Labella to allocate funds for future COVID-related programs such as the purchase of vaccines (see screenshot of my post dated August 4, 2020). In fact, Cebu City has allocated 400 million pesos specifically for the purchase of COVID vaccines in its annual budget for 2021, as approved and passed by the City Council last month on December 23, 2020. As chairman of the committee on budget, I can vouch for this. I wonder why CNN did not include Cebu City in its reporting of LGUs with COVID vaccine funding? Oversight or Fake News?
