BRT is not the solution to our traffic woes because its design requires two dedicated bus lanes in the middle of the street, which our city’s narrow roads cannot accommodate. I say this with all due respect to our mayor’s efforts in addressing the problem.
We need a subway/MRT that goes underground or above ground, not bus terminals that take away from the limited road and pedestrian space that we have. Long term solutions beat temporary ones. Proper and thorough urban planning prior to implementing is what we need to leave a better Cebu for our children. Let’s use common sense and let’s not be afraid to think big over band aid solutions because Cebu deserves to be a world class city.
