It can’t be denied that his years of public service has contributed to making Cebu City as it is today, as he is very much part of our history. Much like his father, former president Sergio Osmeña, Sr., he proudly represented Cebu in the national stage. And we honor, remember, and celebrate his remarkable life and legacy.

 

Horace Mann, regarded as the ”Father of American Education”, said it poignantly: “It would be more honorable to our ancestors to praise them in words less, but in deeds to imitate them more.”

So, as we celebrate the life of this exceptional Cebuano, it is my earnest hope that his example will inspire us all, especially our youth. Let us strive to honor his memory by not only speaking praise about his exemplary and grand life, but also try to imitate it as best we can.
